Komagata Maru, Cricket, Kabaddi & Culture Festival 2008 Mission Statement
To emphasize the Brockton Point Cricket Club's heritage and to draw from the multicultural aspects of the cricketclub history to create an awareness, marketing, communication, sales and distribution platform to raise funds for sustainable disaster relief.

Chronology
1890 - City of Vancouver loans $10,000 to the Brockton Point Athletic Association, which is created by an act of the Provincial legislature, to clear 10 acres at Brockton Point in Stanley Park. Terms of the loan, the association subleases 10 acres from the City on a 50 year sublease to correspond with the head lease for the lands between the Federal government and the City of Vancouver.
Brockton Point Recreation Grounds c. 1900
1914 - City of Vancouver forecloses on the athletic association for non payment of 1 ½ years of rent. Association releases all tenant improvements, grandstand, clubhouses, physical plant and land to the City of Vancouver in trust for amateur athletes in consideration for release from the debt.
